HEAD OF IT PROJECTS

 

Our Client is a leading international ICT provider (UK based) with a well-established South African presence, and they are looking for a capable Head of IT projects. The South African office is based in Century City Cape Town

The Head of IT Projects provides coordination and management of new solution implementation for new and existing clients. The head of projects also is responsible for the day-to-day management as well as training of the projects team. The projects team lead is also responsible for research and development in the new solutions space.

 

General Requirements

  • Earlier background must include hands on technical support, implementation and maintenance experience associated with setting up infrastructure including but not limited to; 
    • Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server,
    • Configuring Microsoft SharePoint,
    •  Configuring Windows Server Active Directory, 
    • Networking (LAN, WAN & SAN); Infrastructure capacity planning; UPS, backup systems, telephony etc. for MS Office/365, Linux, Google suite etc.

Educational requirements

 

Typical educational development would include IT System Support Engineer (MCITP, MCTS); MCSE; Project Management (MS Project, Prince 2; PMBOK)

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

 

General Operational Duties

  • All day-to-day team tasks completed timeously and accurately as set out by relevant deadlines. No past due tasks EOB.
  • Drive best practices communication etiquette as per industry standard
  • Point of contact for client complaints and escalations pertaining to solution implementation
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to HOD pertaining to performance of team and solution progress as well as billables
  • Facilitate daily / weekly project meetings and forecast possible areas of upsell.

Project Management

  • Oversee the needs analysis regarding proposals for clients.
  • Develop all solutions proposal documents and liaise with Technical Manager where needed.
  • Develop project roadmaps, timelines, and planning document.
  • Conduct risk analysis for projects.
  • Oversee the implementation of projects.
  • Constantly monitor progress of ongoing projects.
  • Oversee and develop client communications.
  • Ensure client communications sent out.
  • Complete project QC’s with team and client.
  • Oversee development of project documentation and information.
  • Produce implementation materials.
  • Complete hand-over of implemented projects to Customer Care Team
  • Oversee development of project documentation and information.
  • Produce implementation materials.
  • Complete hand-over of implemented projects to Service Desk team
