Plant Maintenance Manager
Our client is an established manufacturer of packaging products with production operations at various sites throughout the country. (Germiston based)
They have an opportunity for a “hands on” Plant and Equipment Maintenance Manager who will take responsibility for making sure that plant facilities and equipment are always in good order and condition and that records of equipment failures and related information and data is given to the Operations Manager.
In collaboration with the operating staff and supported by a team of maintenance Artisans and assistants, who receive their work instructions from you, you will oversee the implementation of the plant’s overall preventive and predictive maintenance programs and take responsibility for identifying what parts of the plant’s facilities are in need of additional work and possible improvement to ensure the plant is safe and operates at peak condition. Creating outage plans for short and longer term periods for machinery or equipment refurbishment, is also included in your area of responsibility as is maintaining team morale and motivation levels and assisting with maintenance personnel hiring decisions personnel, including locating and screening of candidates.
- N5 / B Tech degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- 8 – 10 years hands on factory plant maintenance experience
- Minimum 5 years Maintenance Management experience in 24/7 operating environment
- Knowledge of OSH Act and associated establishment of safe operating environment.
