National Sales Manager

Leader in the plastics packaging industry seeks to employ a National Sales Manager to be accountable for all sales activities throughout the business.

For the position you would be required to have:

  • B. Com in Sales/ Marketing or relevant postgrad tertiary qualification
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Proven sales management track record
  • MS Office suite literacy

A plus if you also bring:

  • Experience in the Plastic industry
  • Flexibility to travel nationally

You’re good at:

  • Strategic thinking
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities would include you to:

  • Develop and revise Sales Strategy in line with overall company strategy
  • Implement strategy by monitoring sales targets, budgets, new business, call cycles and customers
  • Set and review annual sales and expense budgets
  • Identify new markets and conversion opportunities
  • Continuously improve and expand the current customer base
  • Continuously update price guidelines
  • Build and maintain sound working relationships with customers to ensure understanding of their needs and business
  • Negotiate product specifications
  • Ensure delivery due dates are met
  • Manage, train and develop staff
  • Manage sales managers and reps as well as appointed agents
  • Maintain stock levels in accordance with current and future market trends
